#1 Welcome and Mamaw Wheeler's Family Cookbook - Banana Cake!
A few years ago, I started collecting cookbooks. I would travel to somewhere in America, hit the thrift stores looking for clothing for Texas Time Hop(Etsy Store) and would pick up the cheap little spiral bound cookbooks that some community would have put together for a fundraiser at some point in their history. In a way, it's how I've been teaching myself to cook and bake. I love all things vintage so this really was a way to cook like they did in the old days. I have quite the growing collection and thought that I would share some of the recipes with others who may feel that same way about food and about our history. My first offering comes by way of Walter's Cookbooks from Waseca, MN. It's Mamaw Wheeler's Family Cookbook and was printed some time in, I'm guessing, 1989.
